As warmer weather is approaching students are encouraged to keep in mind the student dress policy, which can be found on page 20 of the handbook. The policy highlights are as follows:
• It is important that student’s attire should not distract from the learning environment. Clothing that exposes the body inappropriately is prohibited.
• Shorts/skirts cannot be more than three inches above the knee.
• Jeans with tears in them that expose the skin are prohibited.
• Clothing should fit properly and adequately cover the body. Clothes that are too tight or too short are prohibited, along with clothing that exposes the torso, chest, stomach, undergarments or undergarment straps. Tops that are considered tube tops, halter-tops or strapless tops are prohibited.
When student wear clothing that is considered inappropriate the students will be asked to change into clothing that is appropriate, which can be found in the office and/or lost and found. Parents will be called to bring in a change of clothes.
Spring is a time of year for enjoying the good weather and changing our wardrobes for the warmer weather. Good judgment in your attire can make this time of year worry free.
