Daily homework: Write incorrect words from daily pretest 5 times each.
Every Tuesday we will be updating our
page. We communicate with classrooms within our own school as well as across the country. Students get a chance to share what they are learning throughout the week and ask questions. They also get to learn a little about other schools. If you have access to Twitter, you can follow us by clicking here.

Today we chose the states we will be writing to for the Great Mail Race! We chose at random. We began writing rough drafts of our letters and we will continue to edit and revise them before sending them out. Here is a list of the states we will write to:
Alaska

Colorado

Connecticut

Hawaii

Idaho

Missouri

New Mexico

North Dakota

Ohio

Rhode Island

Our class point system is officially up and running! Students have been working hard to earn points and have been donating to the entire class collection to reach the class goal of 100 points. I have enjoyed seeing students working so hard! The effort and work ethic is amazing and you should all be very proud of yourselves so far! We’re going to have a great year together!!

Students will begin the year by practicing their letter writing skills. They will select a state and choose a school to write a letter to. This project will give students a chance to connect with peers across the country and learn about the similarities and differences between Maine and these other states. This will also provide students the opportunity to teach their peers from other states about life in Maine. Students will share the following information with their “pen-pals”:
-Subjects they are learning in school
-Interesting facts about Greene
-Interesting facts about Maine
-Activities or topics they are interested in
-Questions they may have for the other students
**Students will not share their last names or any personal information such as home address, phone number, or photos**
